Not a medical device
LeavesBalance is an AI-driven motivational and self-reflection tool. It is NOT a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition. Nothing in the app is a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis or at risk of harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately — the app surfaces hotline resources when it detects language suggesting a crisis, but it cannot and does not monitor you.
What we collect
Account identifiers: a Firebase Authentication user ID, and — if you sign in with email, Google, or Apple rather than staying a Guest — your email address and display name.
What you tell the app: your daily mood check-ins (a mood, its 1-5 level, and any tags you choose), your selected AI persona and focus goals, your bookmarks and read history, and your app settings.
What the app derives: your Root streak, your Leaf balance and the ledger of every Leaf earned or spent, and the text of AI advice generated for you.
Voice chat (Advanced tier only): summaries of real-time voice sessions. Microphone audio is streamed for the duration of a live session and is not stored by us.
Technical data: crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics), usage analytics (Firebase Analytics), and an advertising identifier used by Google AdMob to serve rewarded video ads.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or health records from any other app or device. Microphone access is used only while a voice chat session is actively running, and only on the Advanced tier.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the asia-southeast1 region (Singapore). Some content is also cached on your own device so the app works offline; that local cache is erased when you delete your account from within the app.
How long we keep it
Check-ins, profile, Leaf ledger, and bookmarks are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
AI voice-chat session summaries are automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after they are created, by an automatic retention policy. You do not need to request this.
Crash reports and analytics follow Firebase's own retention periods.
Who else processes it
We use these processors, each under its own terms: Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, crash reporting, analytics); Google Gemini (generates the AI advice and voice conversation — your mood, tags, and persona are sent so it can respond; your name is sent only if you provided one); Google AdMob (rewarded video ads); RevenueCat (subscription entitlement management). We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
Your controls
Everything below is in the app under Settings › System › Your data, and takes effect immediately:
Delete mood data — permanently erases every check-in. Your Root streak resets to zero, because it counts those check-ins.
Delete AI chat history — permanently erases every piece of AI advice generated for you and every voice-session summary.
Delete my account — permanently erases everything above plus your profile, Leaf balance and ledger, bookmarks, and your sign-in itself, and clears this device's local cache. This cannot be undone.
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play and must be cancelled there.
Children
LeavesBalance is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above and surface the change in the app before it takes effect.
